The Rat The Cat Reading Accelerator uses progressive phonics to help learners become better readers, but not by memorizing rules. Progressive phonics is a method for introducing letter combinations logically, each lesson building on the previous lesson. And in the Rat The Cat Reading Accelerator, those lessons come as fun stories about a cat and his imaginative adventures. It's learning to read the old fashioned way—by reading fun stuff WITH someone. Each page has a Read Aloud option, and each page also can be tapped for funny actions.
The Rat The Cat Reading Accelerator is divided into four blocks. Each block consists of ten stories, and each story has, at its end, a page with Vocabulary, Weird Words, and Dictation which an adult can use with the learner. At the end of each block the learner can download a free certificate for having become proficient at that block.
